Key in this education program is that players need to learn to make their own choices, instead of coaches telling them what to do.
Worst thing we can tell them (like we did for decades) is to
‘pass the ball’.

Very OLD SCHOOL

If we don’t give the players the freedom to explore, they will never come up with something original.
We want to develop individually skillful players both on the ball as well as in defense.
My System starts with the most important element of skills:
the grip

A player on the ball has three options: Dribble – 1V1 – pass.
In order to be able to make those choices, players need to be strong on the ball.
Of course players also need to be strong in 1V1 defense.
This is why we say, skills first, tactics come later.
